OLI SPEEDS UP ON MOTO GP WITH THE EIGHT-TIME CHAMPION MARC MÁRQUEZ RIDER
In 2024, the year it celebrates its 70th anniversary, OLI will be racing in the Motorcycle World Championship - MotoGP - with Marc Marquéz, winner of eight world titles (six in MotoGP, one in Moto2 and one in 125cc).
Born in Catalunya in 1993, Marc Márquez, known for his huge talent and facility in adapting to circuits, is the biggest signing for Gresini Racing, the Italian team that OLI is sponsoring for the sixth consecutive year, for this season, joining his brother Alex Marquéz and the 2023 Ducati motorbikes.
At the presentation ceremony for the Gresini Racing team, Marc Marquéz said: "I'm like a kid with new trainers, and I want to learn new things. I want to have fun on the bike again, and Gresini was the only team that waited and gave me the time I needed. It will be a difficult challenge, but great with the Gresini family. I want to go gradually. My biggest rival is me. Expectations are very high, but I know I have to work inside our box. Logically, I'm going to focus on Pecco and Martin, they're the best and I have a lot to learn from them about how to ride this bike. Win from the start? No, you can see that in 2023 I didn't win any races. I haven't won in two years, so I have to take it step by step."
After six successful seasons, OLI is once again present on the riders' leathers and on Gresini's Ducati motorbikes. With this investment, OLI intensifies its global visibility, associating itself with a sport with a growing worldwide following and record audience levels.
The opening race of the 2024 MotoGP World Championship takes place from 8 to 10 March in Qatar and the second race on the calendar will be in Portugal, at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, from 22 to 24 March. As last year, OLI will be promoting some brand activation actions as part of the competition.
"We're entering our sixth season in MotoGP and are excited about the signing of Marc Márquez, an eight-time world champion, who has raised the expectations of good results on the track. It's a winning bet for Gresini Racing, which further reinforces the values of persistence and courage by doing what seemed impossible, but also family values by bringing the two Márquez brothers together in the same team. These are values that OLI and Gresini share and that define our collaboration. This is a different year for OLI, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary, and being able to offer our partners the experience in the paddock will be even more special." says António Ricardo Oliveira, OLI's Board Member.
